About the FLAMES
Calgary (25-16-4) has surged up the Pacific Division standings into a tie for second thanks to a seven-game winning streak prior to going on their bye week. They’ll be looking to make it eight-in-a-row when they return to action Saturday against the Jets.
LW Johnny Gaudreau (15G, 39A) is having an MVP-type season and leads the Flames in scoring while sitting T-4th overall in the league. C Sean Monahan (21G, 21A), LW Matthew Tkachuk (13G, 18A) and LW Micheal Ferland (19G, 10A) give Calgary plenty of offensive punch.
The blue line is also rock solid with D Dougie Hamilton (8G, 14A), Mark Giordano (8G, 13A) and TJ Brodie (2G, 17A) leading the way.

Veteran G Mike Smith (20-13-3, 2.46 GAA, .924 SV%) is proving to be a valuable free agent addition as he carries the bulk of the workload in net.
Calgary is without a pair of veterans due to injury in RW Michael Frolik (broken jaw, week-to-week) and RW Jaromir Jagr (lower-body, undisclosed).
Despite their overall success, special teams are just average for the Flames. Their power play is ranked 19th in the NHL at 18.4%, while their penalty killing is 18th at 79.9%.
Calgary has three Manitobans on their roster in Ferland along with D Travis Hamonic and D Michael Stone.
Calgary won the first of three meetings with the Jets by a 6-3 score in early October. They’ll meet again April 5 in Winnipeg.
