The Winnipeg Goldeyes signed veteran first baseman/outfielder Reynaldo Rodriguez on Friday.
Rodriguez appeared in 17 games last summer for the Mexican League’s Bravos de Leon, and most recently hit .346 with two home runs and 12 RBI in 22 contests for the Venezuelan Winter League’s Aguilas de Zulia.
The Cartagena, Colombia native is a four-time all-star in the affiliated minor leagues, and has reached the Triple-A level in four different seasons throughout his career.

Rodriguez originally signed with the New York Yankees as an international free agent in 2003, and started his professional career the following year in the Rookie level Dominican Summer League. During four seasons in the Yankees’ farm system from 2004-07, Rodriguez hit a combined .286.
