Defenceman Mike Ladyman’s overtime snipe lifted Team White to a 4-3 win over Team Black in the Showcase Game before a crowd of 621 spectators at the Rink Training Centre to conclude the first week of training camp for the Winnipeg Ice.

The Ice, which is debuting in Winnipeg after relocating from Cranbrook, B.C., in the off-season, will open its pre-season in Brandon Friday night against the Wheat Kings.

The teams will square off again on Saturday at Stride Place in Portage la Prairie.

Winnipeg has 34 players remaining on its roster, including four goalies, 10 defencemen and 20 forwards for its slate of four exhibition games, which will conclude with two tilts in Saskatoon Sept. 13 and 14 against the Blades.
