Officers at all 12 of the Manitoba First Nations Police Service’s detachments are now wearing body cameras.
The MFNPS began providing the technology to one detachment at a time last year.
Opaskwayak Cree Nation was announced as the first detachment in mid-September.
“Body-worn cameras are an important tool that will help us continue building strong, positive relationships with the communities we serve,” Chief Jason Colon said in a news release Tuesday.
The RCMP began distributing the cameras to its officers across Canada in November 2024.
