Firefighters douse early-morning fire on Redwood

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in the 400 block of Redwood Avenue at 12:29 a.m. on Saturday morning.
At the scene, crews found two houses on fire. One house was vacant and boarded up.
Firefighters used a defensive strategy to attack the fire until it was safe to enter and use an offensive attack. Firefighters declared the fire under control at 1:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
One of the houses was previously damaged by fires in November 2023, December 2023, and on Oct. 16, 2024 and Oct. 27, 2024 and in November 2024.
