A robbery suspect who escaped after being taken to hospital in Portage la Prairie has been captured, police said Wednesday morning.
Byron Alvin Soloman Roulette, 26, has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and escaping custody, among other charges.
He was arrested July 24 for his alleged involvement in a break-in at a home in Sandy Bay First Nation. Two males stole the victim’s truck.
Manitoba First Nations Police Service officers later arrested Roulette and took him to hospital, where he escaped while handcuffed.
Police are searching for the other suspect.
