A man who escaped after being handcuffed and placed in an RCMP vehicle last month has been arrested.
Roberto Easter, 30, of Chemawawin Cree Nation, was found in a shed in that community Monday after a lengthy search, police said Tuesday. A police dog was used in Monday’s search.
Easter has been charged with escaping lawful custody and three counts of failing to comply with a release order.
Police arrested him for allegedly breaching conditions of a release order at a home on Airport Road at about 3:30 p.m. on July 21. A woman helped him escape, RCMP said previously, and Easter fled into dense bush. The woman has been charged in the incident.
