Mounties arrested a man wanted for manslaughter in Swan River on Monday.

Police went to a home on 2nd Avenue South at 1:10 p.m. after being told Tyrone Guiboche, 41, was hiding there. A warrant of arrest had been issued for manslaughter and breaching conditions.

Officers went there and spoke to the homeowner, who allowed police to search the place, RCMP said in a news release Tuesday.

Police found two males in the back room. One broke free and fled out the back door as officers tried to arrest him, RCMP said.

Police chased him on foot and fired a Taser at the man. Two officers suffered minor injuries while trying to arrest him.

Guiboche, who had pending charges of manslaughter and failing to attend court, is now also charged with two counts each of assaulting a police officer and resisting/obstructing a peace officer.

Guiboche and a 29-year-old man were charged with manslaughter in the killing of a 33-year-old man in Swan River in 2024. He was found stabbed on the evening of Jan. 13. Both men charged, and the victim, were from Swan River. The two men were arrested on Jan. 16 of that year, and Guiboche was later released from custody.
