Police are searching for two brothers in connection with a double homicide in February.

Jermain Gage Houle, 24, is wanted for second-degree murder, while Aaron Junior Houle, 27, is wanted as an accessory after the fact, the Winnipeg Police Service said Thursday.

Canada-wide warrants have been issued for their arrests, and the WPS is asking for the public’s  help in finding them. The brothers are considered possibly armed and dangerous.

Officers were sent to a home on the 300 block of Alfred Avenue at about 4:15 a.m. on Feb. 15 after being told a woman had been shot.

Officers found Sheldon Derrach Catcheway, 33, outside the home and Shanastene Irene McLeod, 35, inside. Police gave the victims, who had both been shot, emergency medical care before they were taken to hospital in critical condition. Both died from their injuries.

Catcheway was a member of Swan Lake First Nation, and McLeod was a member of Muskowekwan First Nation in Saskatchewan, police said. Both lived in Winnipeg.

The WPS asked anyone with information about where the two brothers are to contact its homicide unit at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 204-786-8477 (TIPS) or online.
