LONGUEUIL, Que. – Longueuil police say a woman found dead inside an apartment over the weekend was the victim of a homicide.

The body of Denise Brouillette, 79, was found Sunday morning in a unit on Cuvillier Street West in the Montreal suburb.

Police initially described the death as suspicious.

After examining the scene and gathering evidence, investigators are now confident someone killed Brouillette.

Police are awaiting further expert analysis to better understand the circumstances surrounding her death.

They say no arrests have been made.
