BRIDGEWATER, N.S. – A teenager from the South Shore of Nova Scotia accused of conspiring online with a youth in Manitoba to commit simultaneous attacks at their rural schools is facing an additional charge.
The 15-year-old from Bridgewater, N.S., is facing a charge of counselling another person to commit an indictable offence.
This is in addition to existing charges that include conspiracy to commit murder and uttering threats.
The teen appeared in Bridgewater youth court Thursday, and the matter was adjourned at the request of the defence until the next appearance on July 14.
In March, police received information from Interpol and the FBI that two people had been talking online about their desire to attack schools in Rivers, Man., and Bridgewater, N.S.
Police said at the time they searched a home in Bridgewater and found handwritten plans, imitation weapons, a roughly made imitation pipe bomb and assault rifle, and clothing with hate symbols.
