— The Bombers secondary will remain unchanged for this week, despite giving up three TDs to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. That means Jovon Johnson and LaVar Glover will be the corners, Alex Suber and Clint Kent are the halfbacks, with Brady Browne at safety. Kevin Glenn threw for 274 yards in Friday’s Ticat win, but just 58 of them came in the second half.

— Here’s head coach Paul LaPolice on Steven Jyles’ growth: "People talk about him like he’s been a starter in this league a long time. He hasn’t. He started one game in ’08 and he played half of that game. He played some games in ’09… he is getting better. There’s some things we’ll continue to work on with him, but he’s put us in position to win football games. We have to finish as a team."

— Get this: Montreal QB Anthony Calvillo most certainly was affected by the dislocated index finger on his throwing hand in Saturday’s loss to Toronto, but still managed to complete 37 of 49 passes for 450 yards and three TDs against one interception.

"I have never been around a quarterback who was successful who was not a tough guy," said Als head coach Marc Trestman after the game. "They’re all tough. That’s probably the No. 1 prerequisite even before you get to the skill level."

— Since going three for four for the Eskimos in the last game of 2007, Warren Kean has been all over searching for work. And he insists he’s certainly a better kicker since his first stint with the Bombers two years ago. Why? "The thing that goes into kicking is it’s here (points to his head)," he said. "There are plenty of athletes out there that can kick a football… it’s a piece of leather and rubber that goes between two pieces of metal. The dynamics of it are easy. I’m two, three years older and I’ve been through a lot since."

— Montreal’s Ben Cahoon moved into second place on the CFL’s all-time receptions list Saturday, passing Darren Flutie. Cahoon’s 981 catches trails only Terry Vaughn, who retired with 1,006.

Guard Brendon LaBatte did not practise Sunday but should be good to go against the Als. Still out are safety Ian Logan, OT Andre Douglas, LB Marcellus Bowman and SB Terence Jeffers-Harris.
