— Is rookie WR Greg Carr  actually off to a better start to his CFL career than rookie SB Terence Jeffers-Harris?

In just three games with the Bombers, Carr has already moved past Jeffers-Harris in receiving, putting up 373 yards and three touchdowns on 16 receptions. In his first three games, Jeffers-Harris, once believed to be a rookie of the year candidate, had 15 catches for 238 yards and two touchdowns.

No matter, says Bombers head coach Paul LaPolice. He’s just thrilled to have two high-ceiling talents to work with in his offence.

“It allows you to think and be creative and go, ‘Where is a great matchup to get this guy on?'” LaPolice said. “I think we’ve tried to do that with all these guys. We’re hard on those guys, at least I know I am, because they have to play every spot on the field. We try to move those guys around to get the best matchup possible.”

Jeffers-Harris, who suffered a high ankle sprain that forced him to miss seven games, has 29 catches for 366 yards and three majors. He did not practise Wednesday.

— NEW KID IN TOWN: The Bombers added another receiver to the practice roster Wednesday, bringing in 23-year-old non-import Josh Bishop for a look. The 6-foot-1, 212-pound receiver is a product of the Wilfrid Laurier program, where he caught 74 balls for 1,225 yards and seven touchdowns in his time with the Golden Hawks. Bishop was eligible for the 2010 CFL draft earlier this year but was not selected, as teams had some concern about a pinched nerve in his back during his senior year.

— NOISE METER: Bombers DT Doug Brown on the volume at Canad Inns Stadium Monday evening and the impact it had on the Blue and Gold at field level: “There’s no scientific explanation for it — or at least I haven’t seen one — but anyone who’s played in a stadium with 30,000 people or otherwise knows the energy that’s out there. It’s infectious. I’ve played in games where you feel dead and it can awaken you, give you a spark. It’s not a proven entity, but anyone who has played knows how the (crowd noise) translates on the field.”

— CANADIAN-MADE: On the subject of Brown, the Bomber veteran picked up a player of the week award (top Canadian) for his hand in the win. His official stat line: three tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble.
