Manitoba faces Alberta for senior title

DIGBY, N.S. -- Alberta's Brad Hannah has already beaten Kelly Robertson once at the Canadian senior championships. Now, he'll try and do it again with the title on the line.

DIGBY, N.S. — Alberta’s Brad Hannah has already beaten Kelly Robertson once at the Canadian senior championships. Now, he’ll try and do it again with the title on the line.

Hannah defeated Jeff Thomas of Newfoundland and Labrador 6-5 in the semifinals Friday to advance to today’s championship game.

Hannah was trailing 5-4 in the 10th end when he scored two with the hammer to secure the victory.

In the final, Hannah will meet Manitoba’s Robertson, who topped the men’s standings with an 10-1 record and suffered his only loss at the hands of the Alberta foursome, a 7-5 decision in Draw 11.

In the women’s semifinals Friday, New Brunswick’s Heidi Hanlon built a 6-2 lead at the break and held on for an 8-5 over Saskatchewan’s Delores Syrota.

Hanlon will take on Ontario’s Joyce Potter in the women’s final today.
