Winnipeg Blue Bombers rookie safety Taylor Loffler is one of the CFL’s top three performers of Week 17, the league announced Tuesday.
The honour comes after Loffler, 24, recorded two interceptions and a forced fumble in Friday’s 35-32 win over the B.C. Lions, all of which came in the first half.
Loffler, who was selected in the third round (19th overall) by the Bombers in May’s draft, now has 44 defensive tackles, four interceptions, two forced fumbles and one sack in 15 games this season.

The two other players honoured this week are Ottawa Redblacks quarterback Henry Burris, who, in a win over Hamilton, completed 27 of 39 pass attempts for 393 yards and a touchdown, and also ran for two scores of his own; and Saskatchewan Roughriders running back Joe McKnight after he rushed for 150 yards on 17 carries in a win over Toronto.
