REGINA — The men’s playoff picture is nearly set at the Canada Cup of Curling in Yorkton, Sask.

Kevin Martin and Randy Ferbey, both from Edmonton, clinched berths in today’s Page playoff games on Friday. Martin was 4-1 heading into Friday’s late draw against Toronto’s Wayne Middaugh, but had already wrapped up top spot in the A section.

Ferbey and Winnipeg’s Jeff Stoughton were both 4-1 and tied for first in the B section, but Ferbey earned first place because he beat Stoughton 9-5 on Friday morning.

Ferbey and Martin play today in the Page A1 vs. B1 game, while Stoughton has clinched a berth in the A2 vs. B2 playoff game.

Stoughton’s opponent was to be determined after Friday’s late draw.

On the women’s side, top spots in the A and B sections were still up for grabs heading into Friday’s late draw.

Regina’s Michelle Englot, Calgary’s Shannon Kleibrink and Marie-France Larouche of St-Romuald, Que., were all 3-1 after Friday’s early action. The women’s Page playoff games are also slated for today.
