Hey there, time traveller!
This article was published 11/10/2009 (5840 days ago), so information in it may no longer be current.
VEGAS LINE: Ticats by 6 1/2 points.
THE FORECAST:
Monday should feature beautiful, mostly sunny fall football weather with a high of 11C and a low of 8C. A late-afternoon game, this match will begin with the sun still warming the players’ backs and end with the bite of a late-fall Hamilton evening.
BLUE VS. TICATS:
Since 1950: The Bombers are 52-41-0 all-time against Hamilton; the Bombers have won seven of the last 10 games between the two teams. Winnipeg won all three meetings last season but the Tiger-Cats took the first game this year.
ROSTER UPDATE:
Receiver Terrence Edwards is back in the lineup while Dudley Guice, Jr. will take a knee. LB Barrin Simpson comes on for Joe Lobendahn. The Bombers will add non-import DB Brady Browne and scratch DL Justin Shaw, and add DE Chase Ortiz to replace injured veteran Gavin Walls.
JUICY NUMBERS:
Hamilton averages 22.6 points per game against Winnipeg’s 19.7. Hamilton averages 332.4 yards of total offence per game while Winnipeg comes in at 287.1. The Ticats pass the ball better with a 246.6 per game average against Winnipeg’s 179.7. The Bombers rush the ball more effectively with a 125.4 per game average while Hamilton averages 105.3. Defensively the Tiger-Cats allow 23.8 points per game while Winnipeg gives up 26.4. Hamilton has a plus-2 turnover ratio while the Bombers are a flat zero. Hamilton kicker Nick Setta has struggled, making 28-of-40 field goal attempts while Bomber Alexis Serna has an excellent 27-of-31 mark.
QUOTABLE:
"If I could have 12 Brady Brownes, well, I’d have a hornets’ nest of a football team. Taking him off the nine-game and getting him back on our roster improves our special teams a great deal. He’s just a real good football player," said Bombers coach Mike Kelly, who will add DB Browne to the roster for Monday’s game.
