It’s been a transformational year for Scott Bagshaw’s local restaurant empire.
Last Thursday, the award-winning chef and restaurateur announced the forthcoming closure of Máquè, his Asian-inspired establishment on Dorchester Avenue.
“This is something that I have thought on for a while,” Bagshaw wrote in an Instagram post. “And I feel that the restaurant has run its natural course. We have accomplished so much in this little space and we are so proud of the work our excellent team (past and present) has done.”

Chef Scott Bagshaw’s Máquè opened in 2016 and claimed the 98th spot on Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants List earlier this year.

The announcement follows the pending relocation of Passero, Bagshaw’s Italian eatery, from its original home in The Forks to a standalone restaurant on Corydon Avenue later this summer. Staff from Máquè will join the location.
There is a glimmer of good news for the Máquè faithful. Enoteca, at 1670 Corydon Ave., will host monthly “Máquè Mondays,” during which diners can order to a selection of bestselling dishes, including its popular steamed buns.
Máquè’s last service will be July 14.
