Curator tour and book launch for Tim Gardner: The Full Story
- Friday, Feb. 2, 6 p.m.

Get the full story behind this landmark exhibition on a tour with its curator, WAG-Qaumajuq director and CEO Stephen Borys.
On view until April 7, Tim Gardner: The Full Story is the first retrospective and largest exhibition of Gardner’s work, featuring over 130 artworks spanning three decades. The Iowa-born, Manitoba- and Ontario-raised artist — who earned his BFA at the University of Manitoba — uses watercolours, oils and pastels to capture a side of masculinity and male camaraderie that is both tender and rambunctious, based on snapshots of his brother and his friends.
A fully illustrated hardcover exhibition catalogue, written by Borys with essay contributions from several Canadian scholars, will also launch on Friday night and will be available at ShopWAG.
Doors open at 6 p.m. The book launch program begins at 6:30 p.m., and the tour begins at 7 p.m.

Chris Young / The Canadian Press Musician Feist’s 10-concert tour through Canada begins with a show at the Burton Cummings Theatre on Tuesday.
Feist begins a final tour for her latest record
- Tuesday, Feb. 6, 8 p.m.
- Burton Cummings Theatre
- Tickets $32-$152 at Ticketmaster
A three-year process to record a critically acclaimed album is about to come full circle.
Feist, whose 2023 record Multitudes earned a spot on the Polaris Music Prize’s shortlist last year, begins a leg of 10 concerts in Canada and the United States at the Burton Cummings Theatre on Feb. 6 that she’s calling a finale.
Feist’s Multitudes journey began with the birth of her daughter in 2019 and the sudden death of her father in 2021.
The vast array of emotions the two life-changing events created led Feist to seek out her previous self: one that had earned 11 Juno Awards and four Grammy Award nominations.
So she embarked upon an on-the-go creation of Multitudes’ indie-rock songs, transforming an Airbnb house into a makeshift studio and using a residency in Hamburg, Germany, and intimate concerts to polish songs such as In Lightning, Hiding Out in the Open and Song for Sad Friends.
