WINNIPEG stage star Samantha Hill was scheduled Monday to end her run as the principal Christine in the Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera.
The 25-year-old Hill moved to New York City last October as the alternate Christine Daaé in the longest-running Broadway show and in March was promoted. In June, she performed a duet on national television at the Tony Awards in honour of the 25th anniversary of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical.
Hill leaves to join the cast as Cosette in Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Les Miserables, which opens in Toronto Sept. 27.
