On Thursday, Aug. 8, the voice cast joined filmmakers and special guests to celebrate the world première of the Anishinaabemowin (Ojibwa) version of Star Wars: A New Hope at the Centennial Concert Hall.
In attendance at the event were Anita Neville, Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba; Wab Kinew, Premier of Manitoba; Dan Vandal, Minister of Northern Affairs; and Chief Jason Daniels, Swan Lake First Nation.
Also present were voice-cast stars Aandeg Jedi Muldrew (Luke Skywalker), Ajuawak Kapashesit (Han Solo), Theresa Eischen (Princess Leia), Dennis Daminos Chartrand (Darth Vader), Dustin Gerald Morrow Aagimewikamig (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Jeff Monague Myiingan Minaakwhe (Grand Moff Tarkin), and Wanda Barker Giwedinoonz (Aunt Beru).

The Anishinaabewomin dub was directed by Ellyn Stern Epcar and produced by Michael Kohn, who, in addition to Winnipeg-raised Lucasfilm executive Pablo Hidalgo, were also in attendance.
