Dear Miss Lonelyhearts: I just moved into a big old house with two buddies who curl and play hockey with me. They have girlfriends, but I don’t.

I thought they’d be staying at their girlfriends’ places on nights they were “sleeping” together, but oh no!

So now I get to listen to the duelling sex noises of two couples, on weekends and some weeknights as well.

Do I have any rights here? I really don’t want to admit defeat and move back in with my parents, when feels like I just moved out. But it’s really uncomfortable to be the only guy with no sex life in this household, and then having to hear it, while it’s happening.

GATINEAU - The Royal Canadian Air Force welcomed on Thursday the first two of its new trainer aircraft, the CT-157 Siskin II — the same planes that will replace the old Tutor jets flown by the Snowbirds aerial demonstration team.

The turboprop planes will soon be headed to 15 Wing Moose Jaw, where the air force eventually will station 19 of them to serve as its main training fleet.

Acquiring the Siskin II, also known as the Pilatus PC-21, is part of the RCAF's plan to modernize its fleets and overhaul its training.

RCAF Commander Lt.-Gen. Jamie Speiser-Blanchet said the modern aircraft are well suited both to aerial acrobatics and to preparing pilots for the more advanced aircraft the air force is bringing online.

Apprentice use at build sites of the Victoria General Hospital emergency room and four new schools has doubled expectations, the Manitoba government reported on Friday.

The construction projects are subject to Manitoba Jobs Agreements, a controversial policy the New Democrats unveiled last year.

Through the contracts, at least 10 per cent of construction hours must be worked by apprentices. So far, apprentices have covered 21 per cent of hours, Public Service Delivery Minister Mintu Sandhu said.

Work on the schools and Winnipeg emergency room — the first Manitoba Jobs Agreement projects — began this year. The overall number of hours worked wasn’t available by end of day Friday.

Time’s up for the time change in Manitoba.

Manitobans won’t be setting their clocks back an hour in November. The province has decided to permanently stay on daylight time after surveying residents on the twice annual clock adjustment.

“We heard from Manitobans loud and clear — no more changing the clocks in Manitoba,” Premier Wab Kinew said in a news release Thursday.

Most of the 72,000 votes submitted in an online EngageMB survey — 92 per cent — said they would like to see the practice end. The survey asked if they preferred earlier sunrises in winter with standard time or the later sunsets in summer with daylight time. More than half of survey participants (58 per cent) indicated a preference to stay on permanent daylight time; 34 per cent voted to eliminate the time change but stay on standard time.
