Blue Bombers practice has just gotten underway and newcomer Michael Bishop is taking all the early reps with the first team offence.

Coach Mike Kelly has yet to officially make Bishop his No. 1 QB but there appears to be little doubt that the former Argo and Saskatchewan Roughriders pivot will get the start for Winnipeg this Saturday when the teams meet in Toronto.

In other CFL news, Argos wide reciever Arland Bruce has been told by the club to stay away from practice until his future with the team is settled. It’s believed the club is trying to trade Bruce but has yet to find a suitable deal.

Bruce makes $190,000 and has been fined by the Argos four times this season for team infractions. The Blue Bombers, to this point, have publicly stated they like the players they have and are not interested in trading for Bruce.
