HALIFAX – Manitoba’s Jeff Stoughton started the 2010 Brier in nervous but winning fashion on Saturday afternoon.

Stoughton needed an extra end to collect an 8-7 win in 11 ends over B.C.’s Jeff Richard.

Stoughon now plays Northern Ontario’s Brad Jacobs in the late draw (5:30 p.m.).
