WINNIPEG — Another day, another new player in Blue and Gold.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have added import receiver Greg Carr to their practice roster, the club announced this morning.
The 6-foot-6, 214-pound Florida State product comes to Winnipeg after four years with the Seminoles, leading the team in receiving yards during his final two years.
As a junior, Carr got 45 passes for 795 yards and four touchdowns and followed that up with 39 catches for 542 yards and four touchdowns as a senior. In his time at school, Carr caught 148 passes for 2,574 yards and 29 touchdowns.
The 24-year-old went undrafted in the 2009 NFL Draft but was signed by San Diego. Carr never saw any action with the Chargers.
On Tuesday, the Bombers welcomed a pair of import lineman — DT Jeremy Maddox and OL Marlon Winn — to the practice roster. Winnipeg (2-6) takes on Saskatchewan (5-3) in the Labour Day Classic Sunday.
