The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have bolstered their Canadian receiving corps with the addition of David McKoy.
McKoy (6-2, 195, Guelph) was drafted by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 2nd round (9th overall) of the 2007 CFL Canadian Draft and played in nine games with the Riders before missing the remainder of the season with a knee injury.
He then spent the entire 2008 and 2009 seasons on the injured list but came back to play in Saskatchewan’s two playoff games in 2009.
McKoy spent some time on the Bomber practice roster last season and is familiar to head coach Paul LaPolice from his days with the Riders.
“Having spent time with him in Saskatchewan I know the outstanding work ethic and professionalism David brings. He will be an excellent addition to our locker room,” said Paul LaPolice in a statement.
McKoy played four seasons with the Guelph Gryphons and was second in the CIS with 48 receptions for 858 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior. He was named a CIS First Team All-Canadian and an OUA First Team all-star.
