Looking for post-ballot plans? Join us at the Free Press News Café tonight for drinks, debate and analysis as the federal election draws to a close.

Our multimedia team will be broadcasting live starting at 8 p.m., sharing updates on the tightest races from a team of journalists around Winnipeg. For those watching from home, the show will be broadcast live on this website.

However, federal elections law prohibits us –and everyone else — from publishing or transmitting the results – official or otherwise – from any ridings until all polling stations across the country have closed. So you’ll have to wait until 9 p.m. to see results on our site, or in our broadcast.

The main page of winnipegfreepress.com will transform at around 7 p.m. as we cover the federal election live from the News Cafe. We will have live video, live chat, dynamic, real-time results, and all of the stories from Manitoba and across Canada as they happen. Join us at the Cafe at 237 McDermot Ave. or online to interact.

After 9 p.m. we’ll be analyzing the numbers with columnists, election-watchers and pundits at the café. We’ll also have a breakdown of up-to-the-minute riding results on this site as the ballots are counted in the country’s 308 ridings.

Can’t make it to the café? Take part in our election night live chat, or get involved via Twitter with the hashtag #mbpoli.

The News Café is located at 237 McDermot Avenue, at Arthur Street. For more information, visit our cafe website.
