Hey there, time traveller!

However his Players Cup Hosted By Jonathan Toews week turns out, Tyler Mancini’s going to remember it for a long time.
The 27-year-old professional, who has played out of Pine Ridge for years, gave the club what’s believed to be a first on Tuesday — he scored a hole-in-one on a par-four.
Playing a practice round with last week’s Canadian Tour winner Joe Panzeri and young Canadian pros Nick Taylor and Matt Hill, Mancini blasted a driver off the third tee and the group eventually found the ball in the hole on the 341-yard dogleg to the right.
“Normally, I’m going to hit a four-iron off that tee and that’s what I’ll be doing this week in the event,” Mancini said today at Pine Ridge.
“But we were playing a skins game, so I figured I didn’t have anything to lose with the driver.”
He blasted the tee shot up and over the trees on the right, on the inside of the dogleg, and thought the shot would wind up somewhere in good position near the green.
“We looked to the left of the green and over the green and eventually Nick went up and found it in the hole,” Mancini beamed.
It’s the first-ever ace for the 2009 Manitoba match play and mid-amateur champion.
“I’ve dunked a couple of shots that have bounced out and hit it off the stick lots of times,” Mancini said.
The only bad news for Mancini was that he didn’t win a skin for his feat. In the game the foursome was playing, he needed to score at least a par on the next hole and not get beat on the hole. It’s called a “validation” for a skin but Taylor stole the glory when he eagled Pine Ridge’s par-five fourth.
Mancini played this week’s tournament on an exemption from the Canadian Tour. He has lost his tour status but is working to get it back.
Mancini and 155 others tee it up to start the $200,000 tournament on Thursday.
