The Winnipeg Jets have rounded out their hockey operations department with a few good men.

The team announced Thursday the official hirings of Larry Simmons as assistant to GM Kevin Cheveldayoff as well as their pro, European and amateur scouting staffs, Ryan Bowness as the manager of hockey operations and team services, Jimmy Roy as the director of player development and their full training staff.

The announcement of Roy confirms a story first reported by the Free Press earlier this month about the return of the all-time leader in games played and goals for the Manitoba Moose returns after five years playing in Germany.

Twitter Blake Wheeler Tweeted a photo of the new Jets pants with script logo and dark blue colour scheme.

The pro scouting staff will be led by Mark Dobson and includes Jack Birch, John Perpich and Bruce Southern. Marcel Comeau, who quarterbacked the club’s 2011 draft, will remain the Jets’ director of amateur scouting with Mark Hillier the head scout. The amateur scouting staff is rounded out by Tavis MacMillan (U.S.), Chris Snell (OHL), Keith Sullivan (U.S.), Scott Scoville (WHL), Ed Friesen, Yanick Leman and Pat Carmichael.

The European scouting staff includes head scout Evgeny Bogdanovich and European Fredrik Jax.

Dobson, Perpich, Comeau, Carmichael, Bogdanovich and Simmons have all been with the franchise since the first days in Atlanta in 1999-2000. Bowness also comes to Winnipeg after spending the last two years with the Thrashers.

The full training staff of the includes head athletic therapist Rob Milette, assistant athletic therapists Brad Shaw and Lee Stubbs, head equipment manager Jason McMaster, and assistant equipment managers Mark Grehan and Mike Flaman. Stubbs also specializes in strength and conditioning. Al Pritchard has also been brought on to serve as the team’s massage therapist.
