Tory Leader Hugh McFadyen is promising a new CT scanner for Swan Valley, the latest goody from a party trying to woo seats in Western Manitoba.

McFadyen, who is campaigning in Swan River today, said his party will earmark $1.5 million for the scanner, which means resident won’t have to drive to Dauphin for the diagnostic test.

Nearly 500 scans a month are performed out of Dauphin and many involves patients from Swan River, the Tories said.

The Tories and the NDP have been liberally sprinkling health care promises around the Swan River and Dauphin areas so far this campaign, trying to win two swing seats held by NDP MLAs.
