A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with the funeral costs for two-year-old year Chase Martens whose body was discovered in a creek near his home in Austin, Man. over the weekend.
“Any little bit helps, and on behalf of the family I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your heartfelt compassion and prayers,” read a statement on the page.
The donation page can be found here: www.gofundme.com/42wbfn6k It has raised more than $1000 within the first 17 hours. A vigil was held for the toddler on Sunday, a funeral is set to be held at the MacGregor Sommerfeld Mennonite Church on Wednesday.
A wake and burial will follow later in the week in Grand Rapids.
