The Manitoba Progressive Conservatives plan to create 1,200 new personal-care beds in their first two terms if elected on April 19.

Leader Brian Pallister made the pledge Tuesday morning outside of a personal-care home in Transcona, vowing he will deliver on promises the NDP haven’t been able to carry out.

Pallister said his party will commit $160 million as a baseline for the pledge. He claims the Selinger NDP have only been able to build 20 such beds a year since Selinger took office.
