The Winnipeg Ice will play the Medicine Hat Tigers in the opening round of the Western Hockey League playoffs.
Game 1 of the best-of-seven series is set for Friday at Wayne Fleming Arena, with a 7:05 p.m. puck drop. The second game goes Saturday at 6:05 p.m.
The series then moves to the Alberta city for games 3 and 4.

The Ice enjoyed a record-breaking season, with franchise bests in wins (57) and points (115), to finish as the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Division with a 57-10-1-0 record.
Winnipeg ended the regular season as the top team in the entire WHL to earn the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy for a second consecutive year.
The squad closed out its schedule on Saturday with a 5-3 win over the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings. Conor Geekie, a first-overall NHL pick (11th overall) of the Arizona Coyotes last summer, factored in on all five tallies. He supplied a hat-trick and a pair of assist.
After winning only 11 games a season ago, Medicine Hat improved to 30-29-8-1, and begins the postseason as the eighth seed.
The Ice won three of the four meetings between the clubs this year.
