A re-elected NDP will spend an extra $65 million fixing potholes and renewing local streets, Fort Garry-Riverview NDP candidate James Allum announced today.
This pledge ups the city’s current five-year commitment from $250 million for local roads over five years to $325 million.
“Part of our NDP’s vision for a connected Winnipeg means freeing up city resources to fix local roads and potholes,” Allum said in a news release. “Smoother roads mean safer drives for families and less wear and tear on your car. These investments will help us grow Winnipeg for the future.”

Funding will be dedicated to projects identified by the City of Winnipeg in its capital plan.
This will include:
• Pembina Highway;
• Henderson Highway;
• St. Mary’s Road;
• St. James Street;
• Corydon Avenue;
• Logan Avenue;
• Sargent Avenue;
• Archibald/Watt Street;
• Keewatin Street.
