Hey there, time traveller!
This article was published 10/09/2009 (5903 days ago), so information in it may no longer be current.
RIGHT-HANDER Ace Walker (right) of the Winnipeg Goldeyes has been named Northern League pitcher of the year.
Walker, in his second season with Winnipeg, led the league in wins (12-6), complete games (6) and was second in earned run average at 3.32.
The six complete games broke the club record of five by Joey Cramblitt in 2003 while his 149 innings pitched equalled Roger Luque’s club record from 2004.
Walker is the second Goldeyes pitcher to earn NL Pitcher of the Year honours, joining Rafael Gross, who won it in 2003.
In two seasons with Winnipeg he is 21-10 with a 3.83 ERA.
Earlier this week, Goldeyes general manager Andrew Collier was named Northern League executive of the year.
