The Winnipeg Goldeyes will leave the city with a perfect record to start off their spring training schedule.
The Fish defeated the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 8-7 at Shaw Park on Thursday night. The Goldeyes beat the RedHawks 5-4 on Wednesday.
Thursday night’s win can be attributed to the seventh inning, when the Fish erased a 4-1 deficit by plating seven runs.
James Harris, Dominic Ficociello and Adrian Marin each had a hit and two RBIs for the Goldeyes.
Fargo-Moorhead pitcher Kevin Grendell was lit up like a Christmas tree in the loss, giving up five of the seven runs in the seventh inning on five hits. The Fish outhit the RedHawks 12-10 on the night.
Parker French got the start for the Goldeyes, allowing four hits and two runs in four innings of work. Reliever Joel Bender picked up the win as he pitched three innings and gave up two runs.
The Goldeyes will hit the road to play five more pre-season games before they kick off the regular season in Grand Prairie on May 16 against the Texas AirHogs. The Goldeyes won’t return to Shaw Park until their home opener on May 24 against the Kansas City T-Bones.
