Hey there, time traveller!

NEXT PLEASE…:
THE Bombers have added another kicker to their annual training-camp subplot, sending a sixth-round draft pick in 2010 to the Calgary Stampeders for Canadian punter Mike Renaud (6-foot-3, 215, Concordia).
Renaud was signed in February by the Stampeders after the Grey Cup champs had feared they had lost veteran punter Burke Dales to free agency. But when Dales opted to return, it made Renaud expendable. He attended training camp with the Montreal Alouettes in 2006 and — get this — kicked last year for the Moenchengladbach Mavericks of the German Football League. He was also drafted by Team Ohio of something called the United National Gridiron League.
He was a three-time Quebec Conference all-star and two-time CIS All-Canadian in 2004 and 2005.
“We think the young man has a good skill set and we’re anxious to get him in here and get him going,” said Kelly. “From everything we know about him, he’s been hitting the ball consistently and is a big strong kid and he’s Canadian. So that should alleviate some of the pressure on Mr. Serna to concentrate on field goals and PATs to get him back to what he does best, which is placement kicks. This is an important acquisition for us.”
PK Dan Giancola will also likely do his first kicking of training camp on Sunday after arriving with a serious groin injury.
TIMING IS EVERYTHING:
CB Willie Amos, DB Shawn Gallant, WR Romby Bryant and LB Joe Lobendahn were among the vets who returned to work Saturday after missing time to an assortment of hurts.
Asked if he walked into the trainer’s room to remind players it was time to get healthy, Kelly said: “Are you familiar with cattle prods? I think some of the guys who were sitting on the sideline (in Friday’s Blue-Gold scrimmage) saw a couple young guys do some good things and said, ‘Ooooh, maybe I ought to strap it up here.’ You can’t get evaluated if you’re not on the field.”
