REID NOW NO. 2: Bomber RB Fred Reid rushed 15 times for 72 yards against the Lions Sunday and now sits second in the CFL rushing race to Calgary’s Joffrey Reynolds. Reid has 1,207 yards; Reynolds is at 1,223.

OUCH UPDATE: LB Joe Lobendahn (hamstring) is down again and will likely be replaced in the middle by Barrin Simpson.

RACE FOR SECOND: Winnipeg, 6-9, has a home-and-home with the Alouettes in the next two weeks before the regular-season finale against the Ticats, also 6-9. Hamilton is in Toronto this week and home to Saskatchewan on Halloween before coming here Nov. 8.

FYI

No official word from the Alouettes on who will play QB for them this weekend in Winnipeg, but speculation out of Montreal has Adrian McPherson possibly making his first-ever start. All-star Anthony Calvillo did not finish Sunday’s win over the Tabbies, having tightness in his calf. The injury is not considered serious, but the 13-2 Als don’t have a meaningful game again until the East Final.

Bomber centre Obby Khan, for the record, was punched in the sternum, not the groin, by Lions DT Stephen Williams.

"We were battling all game inside," explained Khan. "I took him to the ground on one play and landed on top of him. I got up and said, ‘What’s up now?’ And he gave me a good punch in the chest. They caught it. Emotions are running high. It happens now and then. No hard feelings."

News of Troy Westwood’s return to the Bombers brought the usual response from some of his ex-teammates. He heard from Bob Cameron, Khari Jones and…

"An interesting voice mail from an obscure player who used to play here — his name is Wade Miller — full of colourful language. I’m sure they’ll start trickling in pretty soon and the guys will have fun with it."
