BOMBERS VS. ESKS:

The Bombers are 82-90-3 vs. the Eskimos all-time and 4-5-1 in the last 10 games.

With QB Steven Jyles taking over for Pierce, the assumption is that the Bombers will devote a little more time to a run game that hasn’t really found its legs yet. Head coach Paul LaPolice on if RB Fred Reid (29 carries for 209 yards) needs to see the ball more than the eight chances he had in Hamilton last week: "It might be a little low, but last week we didn’t have the ball a lot. The message we try to tell our players is that every first down you create is probably another touch for one of the other guys on the team. I think Fred could have (more touches)."

ROSTER UPDATE:

QB Buck Pierce (knee) is out. Same deal for S Ian Logan (hamstring) and DB Alex Suber (hamstring). DT Dorian Smith (knee) won’t practice for at least another month. OL Ryan Donnelly has been put on the nine-game injured list, joining DB Keyuo Craver (knee), OL Glenn January (pectoral) and LS Chris Cvetkovic (knee). Rookie LB Chris Smith has been moved to the practice roster and Canadian WR Aaron Hargreaves gets the start in place of rookie Cory Watson. FB Daryl Stephenson is healthy.

QB SHUFFLE:

When Jyles takes the field today, he will be the sixth Bombers starting QB since the 2008 season. Kevin Glenn, Ryan Dinwiddie, Stefan LeFors, Michael Bishop and Buck Pierce are also on the list. That’s some serious turnover at the most important position on the field, wouldn’t you say?

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Edmonton is last in the league in scoring (53 points) and in turnover ratio, sitting with a minus-nine…Winnipeg P Mike Renaud leads the league with a 50.9-yard average.
