GREG Carr is getting his opportunity to impress the coaching staff. Again.
The 6-foot-6, 214-pound wideout will be in the line-up when the Blue Bombers (6-1) take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (4-3) at Canad Inns Stadium tonight.
“Preparation is all over with,” Carr said at the walk-through Thursday.
Preparation. Good one.

It’s a strange set of circumstances, or maybe it’s strange things even get to this point, that has the 25-year-old receiver needing an opportunity to secure employment in the Winnipeg offence for a second time, given the way the Florida State product produced at the end of the 2010 schedule. In seven games, Carr brought down 31 balls for 568 yards and four touchdowns, showing himself as one of the bright spots in an otherwise dark season.
After suffering a leg injury in the 2011 opener, though, things turned sour for Carr. The quad injury took longer than expected to heal and when he was finally ready to play (two games ago), he found himself on the sidelines. His starter status was revoked without any real explanation, leading to speculation he was in the doghouse due to a perceived poor work ethic and a pending contract concern (he has yet to sign an extension with the club).
Carr doesn’t believe either is the case.
“I’m not really surprised,” he said. “This is a ‘what have you done for me lately’ league, so I understand that, regardless of what I’ve done in the past.”
Carr, who had two catches for 15 yards in Winnipeg’s win over Hamilton in the season opener, replaces fellow sophomore Terence Jeffers-Harris in the starting lineup.
ROSTER SHUFFLE
Bombers LB Marcellus Bowman (toe) is out. Winnipeg DT Doug Brown and LB Henoc Muamba are back from injury. Rookie import Dustin Doe is listed on the depth chart as the starting weak-side linebacker. The newest addition to the Hamilton defensive line, Luc Mullinder, will suit up and is expected to see some playing time. The veteran signed as a free agent earlier this week.

TICATS QB Kevin Glenn is riding high heading into this one. In his last five starts, the former Bombers pivot is 102-of-153 (67 per cent completion rate) with 10 TD passes and just one interception. Coincidentally, Hamilton is 4-1 in that same stretch.

HAMILTON has a league-low 31 ‘two and outs’ on offence. Winnipeg (59) has the most…The Bombers have yet to score on their first possession in a game…Canad Inns Stadium is officially sold out for the Banjo Bowl, as the 500 seats in the temporary bleachers were snapped up Thursday.
