The Winnipeg Jets are gearing up for their return to the NHL and opening night vs. the Montreal Canadiens Oct. 9 at the MTS Centre. During the next few weeks, we will provide you with an up-close look at some of the players who are expected to be in the team's lineup when it hits the ice against the legendary Habs.

  • Mark is the younger brother of Buffalo Sabres left winger Colin Stuart. Older brother Mike was drafted by Nashville in 2000, played three games with St. Louis and most recently in Norway in 2009-2010. His younger sister Cristin played at Boston College
  • His father is Dr. Michael Stuart, the chief medical officer of USA Hockey
  • Captained Colorado College during his junior year and led them to the NCAA Frozen Four
  • Has represented the U.S. at five international events: the 2002 Under-18 championships, the 2003 and 2004 World
  • Junior championships and the 2008 and 2011 IIHF World Championships. Was Team USA’s captain at the ’11 Worlds
  • Diehard movie fan, lists Good Will Hunting amongst his faves

 

TRANSACTIONS: Traded to Atlanta on Feb. 18, 2011 along with Blake Wheeler for Boris Valabik and Rich Peverley.
