About the Jets

Winnipeg was just 1-3 on its recent road trip to Montreal, Toronto, Buffalo and Boston and is coming off a 5-3 loss in Beantown in which both Tanner Glass and Zach Bogosian exited with injuries… For the first time this season, the Jets failed to pick up a point when leading after two periods in Boston. Winnipeg was ahead 3-2 after 40, but lost 5-3 and is now 16-1-1 overall when taking a lead into the third. Worth noting: Winnipeg is 0-13-2 when trailing after two… The Jets have been outscored by a whopping 20 goals (47-27) in the third period this season… Blake Wheeler leads the Jets with 32 points (9G, 23 assists) in 42 games.

About the Sharks

The Sharks are 7-1-2 in their last 10 and are coming off a 5-4 OT loss to the Wild in Minny on Tuesday. San Jose is 4-0-1 in January… The Sharks penalty-killing is ranked just 28th in the NHL, ahead of only Columbus and Toronto… Antti Niemi has seen the bulk of the work in the Sharks’ net and sports an 18-7-5 record with a .917 save percentage and goals against average of 2.33… Patrick Marleau (16G, 19A) and Joe Thornton (8G, 27A) are tied for the club lead in scoring with 35 points each.
