Not much left of this dead horse to beat, but for the sake of taking note: The Jets were 25th in the league for power-play percentage heading into Saturday’s game, at 13.1 per cent. Going zip-for-2 on Saturday afternoon dropped ’em a spot down to fourth-least efficient in the NHL, at 12.8 per cent. They’ve also given up four short-handed goals now, including Zach Parise’s third-period zinger, which is tied for most in the league. No surprise, the boo birds took flight shortly into the Jets’ first power play of the game.

Apparently, the Jets are mostly evening warriors. By our count, the team has played 15 midday games since landing in Winnipeg in the 2011-12 season and won just three of those. We understand it’s hard to get up for games when breakfast has barely settled, but so far, their opponents have done a better job. On that note, the Jets still have nine daytime tilts left this season, including back-to-back noon starts against the Bruins and Penguins in January.
