WINNIPEG – Kyle Edward Bekker scored twice on Thursday to lead Forge FC over Cavalry FC 2-0 in Canadian Premier League play.
Bekker opened the scoring in the 13th minute and then added an insurance goal in the 35th for Forge (2-2-0).
Tristan Henry made two stops for the clean sheet.
Cavalry FC (2-1-1) controlled 65.2 per cent of possession but couldn’t make it count.

All eight CPL teams are playing at Winnipeg’s IG Field for the first part of the season — a 29-day single-city stretch being dubbed “The Kickoff.”
