GAME BALLS:

ñº OFFENCE

There just might be a run on No. 12 jerseys at the Bombers Store this morning as Adarius Bowman has stepped forth as a playmaker in the CFL. Bowman had 10 catches for 213 yards and two touchdowns and was a force all afternoon.

ñº DEFENCE

The Blue Bombers have a pair of wild young defensive ends in Odell Willis and Phillip Hunt. Both are fast and powerful and they created havoc all afternoon in the Hamilton backfield. Willis had two tackles, a sack and a forced fumble while Hunt had three tackles, a sack and a forced fumble. They may be young and a little green but they certainly fly around with enthusiasm.

ñº SPECIAL TEAMS

We’ve always been a fan of punter Mike Renaud and his ballsy runs downfield on kicks, but the risk of injury to a skinny kicker gets multiplied big-time when he crosses the line of scrimmage. Renaud got stung on his first punt of the day when he collided oddly with Ticats return man Terry Cawley. Renaud limped off the field after the play and did not return. The team was calling it a bruised knee. That left Alexis Serna to handle both the punting and the placekicking and the second-year man did a fine job of both, going 3-for-4 kicking field goals.

CRITICAL NUMBERS:

6-8

Both the Blue Bombers and Tiger-Cats own 6-8 records with four games left on the schedule, setting up the final month of the regular season as something to watch in the East Divison. The clubs will fight for second place and the right to host the East semifinal.

492

As in 492 yards of offence. The Bombers had 23 first downs and owned the time-of-possession battle, holding the ball for 33 minutes and 10 seconds. This was a dominant offensive display.

FAN-O-METER:

A coolish day and the comforts of home on a holiday Monday were the reasons trotted out by Tiger-Cats staffers for a soft house of 19,562 customers at the 29,000-seat Ivor Wynne Stadium.

It didn’t take those in attendance long to start chanting for Kevin Glenn after starter Quinton Porter struggled at quarterback. The fans got their wish as the former Bombers pivot came into the game before the first quarter was over.
