BOMBERS vs. ALS (since 1946):

MONTREAL holds the overall edge with a 39-32-2 record against the Bombers. Winnipeg is 5-5 in its last 10 vs. the Als. Montreal is 3-0 at home; the Bombers are 0-3 on the road and haven’t won away from home since beating Hamilton last Oct. 12, a string of four straight losses.

BLUE ROSTER UPDATE

THE Bombers have added new kicker Justin Palardy and middle linebacker Merrill Johnson and have opted to sit Canadian linebacker Chris Smith and injured kicker Louie Sakoda. LB Marcellus Bowman, right tackle Andre Douglas, Sakoda and receiver Terence Jeffers-Harris are all on the one-game injured list while the nine-game injured list features DB Keyuo Craver, LS Chris Cvetkovic, OLs Ryan Donnelly and Glenn January, DB Shawn Gallant and DB Jerry-Ralph Jules.

GAUDY NUMBERS

ALOUETTE QB Anthony Calvillo now trails CFL all-time passing leader Damon Allen by 6,751 yards and 25 touchdowns. He is currently on pace to reach the 5,000-yard passing mark for the sixth time in his career.

HIGH PRAISE

HERE is Montreal head coach Marc Trestman’s take on the Bombers:

"In my mind they are an ascending football team. They are very, very close. They are loaded with talent, they are being coached very, very well. You look at their offence and you’re sitting there with (Adarius) Bowman, with (Terrence) Edwards, with (Brock) Ralph, with Fred Reid… these are dynamic players with great speed. Even with Buck (Pierce) down Steven Jyles knows the offence and can move around, make plays with his feet and throw the ball reasonably well. And defensively their speed is equal to any team in this league… this is a team that is very, very close to turning it around and we’re well aware of that."

WINNIPEG is 4-16 in 20 games at Molson Stadium, making it the toughest road trip of all historically for the Bombers. Winnipeg did hand the Als their last home loss back in October of 2008… Montreal hasn’t lost at home in 12 straight games, the second-longest home-winning streak in franchise history. From 1953 to 1956 the Als were unbeaten in 20 games at home. Get this: the Als are 99-30 at home since 1996… Ben Cahoon needs only 26 receptions to move past Terry Vaughn into first place on the CFL’s all-time list… Not that you needed statistical evidence to state the obvious, but here it is anyway: the Bombers are 1-17 since 2008 in games in which they commit more turnovers than their opponent… Bomber RB Fred Reid has just 154 yards on 41 carries in his last four games against Montreal.
