WINNIPEG — With the deadline to trim the training camp roster less than 24 hours away, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have added another player.
The CFL club announced the signing of import wide receiver Alex Watson this morning. That gives the Blue and Gold 79 players on the roster — though nine of those players do not count against the total number.
CFL clubs have to get down to 68 players by Tuesday.
Watson, a 5-foot-9,185-pound receiver from Long Beach, Calif., comes to Winnipeg from the Northern Arizona program.
There, the 26-year-old registered a total of 194 receptions for 2,250 yards and 22 touchdowns — 14 of which came in his junior year when he caught 81 passes for 1,009 yards.
