Hey there, time traveller!

Big Top Fringe will be pulling down the tents and rounding up the freaks on Sunday, but a few productions have been awarded one extra show that day.

While this lineup is called Best of Fest, it’s not measured by excellence, but by ticket sales (though those often coincide). The top-selling two shows available at each official venue get the bonus slots. Best of Fest is a fundraiser, with revenue split 50/50 between the company and the festival.

All tickets are $10, except at the Kids’ Venue where they’re $5 for kids and $10 for adults.

All tickets are available in advance starting at 10 a.m. today at 942-6537, www.winnipegfringe.com, or in person at Manitoba Theatre Centre. Remaining tickets will be sold at the venues Sunday.

MTC has also announced the nominees for the 2011 Harry Rintoul Award for the best new Manitoban play at the fringe. The award will be presented on the outdoor stage on Sunday night.

The nominees are All or Nothing by Bruce Sarbit and Sigurd the Dragonslayer by Jessy Ardern and Ariel Levine, both of which earned Best of Fest performances.
