Hey there, time traveller!

Dear Miss Lonelyhearts: I saw a gorgeous younger man on the bus and my friend and I were staring at him and talking about him, imagining he was a stripper and saying other other goofy stuff about him being wrapped around a stripper pole, upside down.
As he got off the bus, he looked right at us, winked sarcastically and said, “See you ladies again some time.” It didn’t sound like he was amused or thought we were cute. We felt like idiots. He knew we were staring and talking about him sexually. How embarrassing. How much did he hear of what we said? Neither one of us had any kind of smart retort, we just sat there feeling stupid. How could we have handled that better?
— Guilty Gawkers, Pembina Bus
Dear Guilty Gawkers: Hanging your heads was completely appropriate. You know what it feels like when guys in a group stare at girls and whistle or talk about them. This was the same thing. He handled it well. I agree his comment was sarcastic, as no one likes to be talked about as a sex object and smirked about. If you see him on your bus again, keep your nose in a book and let it go. There’s nowhere further to go on this. Leave him alone.
