Sexy sounds from bedroom leads to obsession

Dear Miss Lonelyhearts: I met five women on a hike last fall and we got together for dinner and drinks downtown last weekend, like a reunion. It was a blast, and carried over to one of the girl’s apartments and went on until we’d eaten every snack out of the cupboards and downed all the liquor. Three of the girls slept in one bed, I slept on the couch and one went home in a taxi to feed her animals. I hear the other one rolled under the dining-room table and passed out, and then went home without waking anybody about 6 a.m.

It was a very crazy night. Here’s the deal: from the couch I heard stuff going on between the three girls in the bedroom — sexy kinds of sounds. I don’t know how to settle this in my mind. It bothers me in bad ways and in good ways. I’m so curious, but I don’t want to ask about what went on in case I sound judgmental or accusatory. I’m wasting a lot of study time this week wondering what went down in that bedroom. Do you think I could or outright ask somebody?

Dear Shyest Girl: Crazy stuff like this is not generally sacred secret stuff, but if there’s a vow of silence over it, they’ll soon enough tell you if you start probing. You just won’t get any answers, except perhaps. “You weren’t part of it, so why are you asking?”

Here’s a way you can probably find out — divide and conquer. Ask the chattiest, most liberal girl of the group out for a drink somewhere and get into chatting about the night as if you know more than you do. If you do happen to guess something wrongly, you will be corrected, as people can’t stand for information to be wrong, especially juicy stuff about themselves.
